The Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Alan Kasujja, has marked Father’s Day with an emotional message honouring fathers he describes as silently carrying heavy responsibilities while striving to secure a better future for their children.

In a reflective statement shared on Sunday, Kasujja focused on the unseen struggles of fathers who continue to work under pressure, often without recognition, as they try to shield their families from hardship.

His message framed fatherhood as both a burden and a quiet form of sacrifice shaped by resilience and endurance.

“I see you!

You are not absent.

You are fighting.

Struggling so that your kids don’t have to.

You’re carrying people who don’t even know they are being carried,” he said.

He further extended a prayer for breakthrough and stability in the lives of fathers, noting that many continue to balance economic pressure with family expectations.

Kasujja emphasized the importance of family unity, particularly calling for peace within homes so that fathers are not forced to fight battles beyond financial responsibility.

“May God grant you the breakthrough that will allow you to spend more time with your kids.

May their mother be your shelter, not another battle,” he added.

In the closing section of his message, Kasujja turned his attention to children, expressing hope that they would one day understand the sacrifices made by their fathers.

He suggested that recognition often comes later in life, when children reflect on the struggles that shaped their upbringing.

“May your children, when they grow up and understand the price of things, look back and say —

Taata yatulwanirira.

Our father fought for us.

Happy Father’s Day my guy!”

The message has resonated widely as part of broader Father’s Day reflections across East Africa, where discussions around economic pressure, family responsibility, and emotional support for parents continue to gain attention in public discourse.
