Blogger Frank Mwesigye has praised Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretary General Twalla Fadil for what he described as a series of achievements recorded during his first 79 days in office.
Mwesigye said Fadil had made significant progress in strengthening the operations of the political organisation despite having served for only a short period.
In a statement, Mwesigye highlighted the organisation of three major Barazas among the key activities undertaken by Fadil since assuming the position.
He also noted that the PLU secretary general had met with regional and sub-regional coordinators as part of efforts to engage the organisation’s structures across the country.
According to Mwesigye, Fadil has also reached out to different groups, including university leaders, boda boda riders and tax operators, in what he described as efforts to expand engagement with various sections of Ugandan society.
Another achievement cited was the launch of the PLU website, which Mwesigye said had added to the organisation’s communication and public engagement efforts.
Fadil has also overseen the production of identification cards for Patriotic Officers, according to the blogger.
Mwesigye further credited the secretary general with lobbying for 50 new laptops for the PLU Secretariat and securing a new staff vehicle, which he referred to as the “Drone”.
He said Fadil had also created five additional office spaces at the PLU Secretariat, improving the working environment for staff and officials.
The blogger also praised Fadil for recognising PLU mobilisers whom he said had previously been overlooked within the organisation.
“Today marks 79 days since Hon. Twalla Fadil assumed office as the General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), but the achievements he has registered in such a short time speak for themselves,” Mwesigye stated.
He described the developments as “remarkable milestones” and encouraged Fadil to maintain the momentum.
“Keep it up, Hon. Twalla Fadil!” Mwesigye said.
He also extended appreciation to PLU chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for appointing Fadil to the position and expressing confidence in his leadership.
The remarks come as PLU continues to strengthen its organisational structures and expand its activities across different sectors.
Mwesigye's comments, however, represent his assessment of Fadil's performance, while the specific achievements highlighted would require independent verification by the organisation or relevant authorities.
