Rev. Canon Dr. Grace Lubaale, the newly elected fourth Bishop of Busoga Diocese, paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa on Thursday afternoon.
During the meeting at Parliament, Dr. Lubaale prayed for Tayebwa and officially invited him to his consecration, scheduled for December 14, 2025, at Christ Cathedral in Bugembe, Jinja.
Dr. Lubaale, who holds a PhD in Development Studies, is known for combining spiritual leadership with practical development initiatives.
Tayebwa expressed confidence in Dr. Lubaale’s potential to contribute not only to the spiritual growth of the Busoga faithful but also to regional development.
“Beyond providing spiritual nourishment to the flock, he will play a critical role in the development of Busoga,” Tayebwa stated.
He further highlighted his past collaboration with Dr. Lubaale during the latter’s tenure as Chairman of the Kyambogo University Academic Staff Association.
Tayebwa recalled Dr. Lubaale’s negotiation skills and patriotic approach while advocating for enhanced remuneration for university academic staff.
The Deputy Speaker wished the Bishop-Elect success in his new role, emphasizing the importance of combining leadership, expertise, and community service.
Dr. Lubaale’s consecration is expected to bring together religious leaders, political figures, and community stakeholders to celebrate his elevation to the diocesan office.
