As Ugandans head to the polls today, prominent media personality and communications strategist Andrew Kyamagero has called on citizens to embrace their democratic responsibility with vigilance and purpose.

Through a heartfelt message shared on social media, Kyamagero reminded Ugandans that the act of voting is not merely a civic duty, but a defining moment that shapes the nation’s future.

“Today is not an ordinary day. It is a summoning of conscience,” he stated, emphasizing that each ballot represents both a reflection on the past and a contract with tomorrow.

Kyamagero urged voters against complacency, stressing that apathy and silence undermine the democratic process.

“Do not outsource your destiny to apathy. Do not surrender your voice to silence,” he said, highlighting that national progress is achieved not by spectators, but by active participants.

The media personality, known for his work at NTV Uganda and Radio 4 as well as his social initiatives like the Omuntu Wawansi Initiative, encouraged citizens to vote with calm and authority, rather than anger or fear.

“Step out. Stand tall. Vote, not in anger, not in fear, but in the quiet authority of citizens who understand that history moves when the people move,” Kyamagero wrote.

He concluded by underscoring the power of collective civic action: “Today, your presence is power. Today, your vote is memory in the making. Let us go out and vote.”
