State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Ateenyi, has extended his congratulations to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni following his re-election for the 2026–2031 term, officially announced by the Uganda Electoral Commission on Saturday.

In a statement shared on social media, Ateenyi described Museveni’s victory as a significant achievement and commended the president for his leadership.

“Heartfelt congratulations, Mr. President elect His Excellency Kaguta Museveni, on this achievement,” he wrote.

Ateenyi also acknowledged the role of Uganda’s defence and security forces during the electoral process, highlighting their contribution to maintaining peace and order in a period often marked by tension.

He specifically praised the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, noting the security agencies’ efforts in safeguarding citizens throughout the voting and result announcement period.

“To our brothers and sisters in defence and security forces, led by the CDF General Muhoozi kainerugaba, thank you for keeping our country safe during this sensitive election period. God bless You NRM,” Ateenyi added.

The minister’s remarks reflect the ruling National Resistance Movement’s focus on consolidating unity and recognizing the efforts of institutions that supported a smooth electoral process.

Ateenyi’s message comes amid a broader wave of congratulations from political allies and party supporters across the country, reinforcing President Museveni’s continued political mandate and the NRM’s dominance in Uganda’s political landscape.
