Fresh accounts have emerged detailing how a security operation at a residence linked to former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among allegedly unfolded, painting a dramatic sequence of events that stretched through the night into the following morning.
The accounts, attributed to a source familiar with the operation, have not been independently verified by authorities.
According to the source, the operation began at the Nakasero residence when a joint team of investigators arrived alongside Among’s legal representatives.
It is alleged that upon arrival, Among instructed a family nurse to administer a sedative, reportedly stating she wished to sleep through the process and only wake after it had concluded.
The source further claims that investigators later found her “deeply asleep” inside the bedroom as the search commenced.
It is alleged that she was briefly moved from the bed to the floor to allow officers to continue their search, including checks conducted beneath furniture and within concealed spaces inside the room.
At around 2000 hours, the account states that a firefighting unit was brought in to assist in opening a secured safe believed to contain financial documents or valuables.
The operation reportedly intensified as specialized equipment was used in attempts to access its contents.
The source alleges that while the search was ongoing, the former Speaker eventually regained consciousness several hours later, discovering that officers were still carrying out the operation within the residence.
The team is further said to have escalated the search to structural modifications inside the house, including the removal of tiles in multiple areas such as the bedroom, staircase, and storage sections.
According to the same account, officers were reportedly searching for cash and financial records believed to be linked to ongoing corruption and illicit wealth investigations.
The operation is said to have continued throughout the night, with investigators methodically examining different sections of the property.
The search allegedly extended until the following morning before the security team exited the premises.
