Public figure Linda Evelyn Namulindwa has expressed deep frustration over the country’s post-election environment, describing the period as painful and distressing for many citizens.

In a public statement, Namulindwa cited the internet shutdown, violence, and widespread fear, arguing that these conditions were followed by manipulation of the voting process.

Her remarks add to growing public concern over how the elections were conducted, particularly the impact of restricted access to information and heavy security deployment.

Civil society groups and sections of the opposition have previously warned that such conditions undermine public confidence in democratic processes and weaken citizen participation.

Despite her criticism, Namulindwa acknowledged that the electoral process has concluded and leaders have already been declared.

She urged Ugandans to now look ahead, expressing hope that those in office will choose to govern responsibly and in the interests of the wider population.

Namulindwa outlined key priorities she believes should guide the country’s leadership going forward.

These include a fair political and economic environment, realistic taxation that does not overburden citizens, improved road infrastructure, and fully functional public health facilities.

She also emphasized the importance of access to quality education and sustainable job creation, particularly for Uganda’s growing youth population.

Security, accountability, and responsive leadership were central to her message. She called for leaders who listen to citizens and address their concerns with honesty and transparency.

Her statement reflects sentiments shared by many Ugandans following a tense electoral period, with increasing calls for governance reforms, service delivery, and policies that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens across the country.
