Mao recalls how in 2017, after Bobi Wine’s landmark win as Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East, he saw huge excitement among Uganda’s youth for the first time in years. Mao believed that Bobi Wine’s popularity could help mobilize young voters, narrowing the huge gap Museveni usually had over opposition candidates.
