National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has expressed solidarity with detained human rights activist Miria Matembe, calling for her immediate release from military detention.
In a social media statement, Kyagulanyi condemned what he described as continued harassment of Matembe and other women by the military, saying such actions undermine justice and respect for human rights in Uganda.
"I stand with you in this dark and painful moment," Kyagulanyi wrote. "The harassment you and other women are facing from a childish coward masquerading as a general does not diminish your courage or dignity; it only exposes his weakness and moral bankruptcy."
The opposition leader further claimed that the international community was paying close attention to the developments in Uganda. GET FULL STORY HERE.
