Kenyan opposition leader and senior counsel Martha Karua has issued a defiant response following her deportation from Uganda, declaring that President Yoweri Museveni will not remain in power indefinitely and insisting that she will eventually return to the country despite being denied entry.
Karua's remarks have added a new regional dimension to an already heated political debate surrounding the arrest and prosecution of prominent Ugandan opposition figures. The outspoken lawyer and former Kenyan Justice Minister was turned away at Entebbe International Airport earlier this week after arriving to participate in legal proceedings linked to opposition politician Erias Lukwago.
Her deportation immediately sparked reactions from political leaders, lawyers, and civil society groups across East Africa, with many questioning why a senior advocate from a neighboring country was prevented from entering Uganda.
Speaking during a television interview in Kenya, Karua made it clear that she has no intention of being intimidated by the incident. GET FULL STORY HERE.
