The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has issued a stern warning to its personnel over careless use of social media, emphasizing that every online post from a soldier carries weight far beyond ordinary civilian standards.

Speaking at the Nsujju Mporwe Barracks in Mpigi District, Major Bilal Katamba, the Deputy Director of Defence Public Information, delivered a hard-hitting message to trainees of the Pre-Level III Military Police Course.

His caution centered on rising concerns over how digital platforms are being misused, potentially risking national security and tarnishing the UPDF’s public image.

“As a soldier, you are not just any Ugandan. You represent an institution. Every word, every image, every like or comment online can be interpreted in ways that affect the entire force,” Maj Katamba warned.GET FULL STORY HERE.
