A National Unity Platform (NUP) activist Ssekabira Patrick has called on Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to provide clear information on the whereabouts of political figure John Bosco Kibalama, whose disappearance in 2019 continues to draw public and political scrutiny.
In a message directed to the Prime Minister, Ssekabira urged Nabbanja to revisit her earlier remarks in Parliament regarding Kibalama’s alleged abduction and provide a definitive account of his status.
“Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, as you attend church this Sunday and are given a front seat, I ask that you remember your public remarks regarding the alleged abduction of Mr. John Bosco Kibalama on 3rd June 2019 in Kakiri. Kindly provide clarity to the public on his whereabouts,” Ssekabira stated.
He further appealed for urgency in addressing the matter, arguing that Kibalama’s children continue to suffer uncertainty over their father’s fate and deserve answers.
“His children deserve answers and the chance to know what happened to their father,” he added.
Kibalama’s disappearance has remained a politically sensitive issue since 2019, frequently resurfacing in parliamentary debates and opposition commentary.
Human rights groups and opposition leaders have repeatedly raised concerns over alleged enforced disappearances linked to political activity.
Prime Minister Nabbanja previously told Parliament that Kibalama was not missing, suggesting he was in state custody at the time.
However, she later clarified that her remarks had referred to a different individual with a similar name, effectively retracting her earlier position.
The contradictory statements have continued to generate political debate, with opposition lawmakers demanding that government provide verifiable details on Kibalama’s location or legal status.
Ssekabira’s latest remarks add renewed pressure on the government to respond to lingering questions surrounding the case, which remains unresolved nearly seven years after Kibalama was first reported missing.
Opposition figures maintain that the lack of clarity undermines public trust, while government officials have yet to issue a fresh, detailed update on the matter in Parliament or through official channels
