Parliament Speaker Anita Among has called on residents of the Busoga sub-region to actively participate in wealth creation programs led by the NRM government and to support President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election bid.
Speaking at a rally in Buyende District on Monday, Among was joined by NRM Western Region Vice Chairperson Eng. Jonard, local NRM flag bearers, and other regional leaders.
The rally marked preparations for President Museveni’s upcoming visit to the sub-region as part of his nationwide campaign trail.
During her address, Among highlighted the importance of community involvement in government-led initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and boosting economic development.
“Participation in these programs is essential for us to achieve our national vision of becoming an upper middle-income nation,” she said.
Among also praised President Museveni’s leadership, emphasizing his role in guiding Uganda from periods of instability to peace and sustained economic growth.
She urged residents to recognize the gains made under his administration and to continue supporting his vision for the country.
“The people of Busoga are encouraged to fully support President Museveni’s candidacy and to build on the progress achieved under the transformative leadership of the NRM,” she added.
The Speaker’s message comes as the ruling party ramps up its campaigns ahead of upcoming elections, focusing on both economic achievements and political stability.
NRM leaders at the rally also engaged with local communities, emphasizing the party’s ongoing commitment to projects that foster economic empowerment, including agricultural programs, small business support, and youth skills development.
Among concluded her address by encouraging residents to continue participating in NRM programs, describing active engagement as a pathway to sustainable development and shared prosperity for the region.
