National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine on Monday declared a triumph over security forces after a series of attempted blockades disrupted his rally in Mubende District.

Posting on X, Bobi Wine thanked residents of Kassanda and Mubende for their support, saying: "Just like yesterday in Mityana, there have been illegal attempts by the military and police to block us from attending our rally in Mubende this afternoon BUT WE RESISTED AND DEFEATED THEM!"

According to the NUP leader, security personnel initially attempted to prevent his convoy from reaching the scheduled venue.

Similar incidents were reported in Mityana the previous day, where rallies were delayed due to police and military interventions.

Despite the obstacles, NUP supporters reportedly mobilized quickly, ensuring the rally proceeded.

The party claims that the show of determination highlights the resilience of its supporters amid increasing restrictions during the ongoing campaign period.

Bobi Wine’s tour of the central region is part of NUP’s broader strategy to engage voters in key districts while reinforcing the party’s message of political change and civic participation.
