A Ugandan government aircraft linked to high-level state travel has landed in the United States, sparking speculation after authorities remained silent on the purpose of the trip.
US-based Ugandan journalist Remmy Bahati revealed in an update posted on X that the aircraft, a Gulfstream G550 registered as 5X-UGF, arrived in Savannah, Georgia, and has remained grounded for over 23 hours without any official communication from Kampala.
The jet is operated by the Government of Uganda and is primarily used to transport President Yoweri Museveni during official state engagements.
Its deployment is typically reserved for sensitive missions involving the head of state or matters of national importance.
According to flight tracking data from FlightAware, the aircraft, identified under code RAU2, departed Uganda and transited through Cape Verde before landing in the United States.
However, no statement has been issued by Ugandan authorities to clarify the objective of the journey.
The unexplained presence of the presidential jet has triggered widespread discussion online, with some users raising questions about possible diplomatic, medical, or security-related missions.
Unverified claims have also circulated regarding the health of First Lady Janet Museveni, although no evidence has been provided to substantiate the reports.
