Activist Stella Nyanzi has weighed in on the unfolding developments involving Speaker Anita Among and Masaka Woman MP Justine Nameere, as both face growing public scrutiny and security-related incidents in recent days.

Her remarks come after reports of a security operation at properties linked to Anita Among in Nakasero, Kololo, and Kigo.

The operation is said to be tied to investigations into alleged financial misconduct, abuse of office, and possible violations of leadership and anti-corruption laws.

The developments have triggered political debate and public attention on accountability within top state offices.

At the same time, Justine Nameere, the newly sworn-in Masaka District Woman MP, has also been at the centre of controversy following reports of a forceful arrest by plainclothes security operatives in Masaka City.

Her supporters have raised concerns over her condition and whereabouts after the incident, calling for official communication and accountability over the arrest.

Commenting on the two cases, Nyanzi questioned the direction of the ongoing scrutiny, suggesting that the focus should not be limited to a few individuals.

“I am watching the news from Uganda with lots of anticipation. AAA and Nameere are only two crooks. In order for the clean-up to be effective, the long list of corrupt politicians must unroll, unroll, unroll. Surely it cannot be only these two women! Forget about rule of law and due process; ours is an SFC-run state. Ani addako?” she said.

Her remarks have drawn mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that anti-corruption efforts should be broader and not selective, while others have criticised her wording and questioned her framing of ongoing investigations.

The developments surrounding Among and Nameere have intensified debate over the relationship between security agencies and elected leaders, with questions emerging about how investigations are being conducted and communicated to the public.
