KAMPALA — A growing public rift between some of Uganda's most influential security figures has sparked intense debate after Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba appeared to issue a stern warning to a cabinet minister widely believed to be former Internal Affairs Minister Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire.
The dramatic exchange follows Otafiire's explosive departure from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he openly criticized sections of the Uganda Police Force and alleged resistance to reforms he attempted to implement during his tenure.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony to his successor, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, Otafiire claimed that efforts to address issues within the police were repeatedly frustrated by officials who resisted directives from the ministry.GET FULL STORY HERE.
