Political blogger and supporter of the Patriotic League Uganda (PLU) Mwesigye Frank has detailed the progress of his wedding preparations, expressing appreciation to several senior government officials, media figures, and religious leaders who attended a recent planning meeting ahead of his ceremony scheduled for 20 June 2026.
Frank said the wedding journey formally began with a launch held on 16 April, followed by a final coordination meeting on 2 June 2026.
The meeting, according to him, brought together close associates, political allies, and supporters who have been involved in organizing the upcoming eve.
He noted that the gathering was part of the final preparations as he and his fiancée move closer to the wedding day. The meeting focused on logistical arrangements, coordination of guests, and alignment of responsibilities among different support teams.
Among those acknowledged were Adonia Ayebare, who was named in a ceremonial capacity as “designated Minister for Foreign Affairs,” and Justine Nameere, referenced as “designated State Minister for Local Government.”
Also mentioned was Peter Ogwang, who was recognized for his attendance and support during the planning session.
Other participants included Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Kasujja, religious leader Aloysius Bugingo of Salt Media Group, and Henry Basaliza, who also holds a position within the Tooro Kingdom leadership structure.
Frank further acknowledged James Kakooza and what he described as “hundreds of friends and well-wishers” who participated in the preparations. He said their presence reflected strong personal and institutional support ahead of the wedding ceremony.
In his statement, Frank expressed gratitude to all attendees, noting that their encouragement and commitment had played a key role in the planning process.
“Following the successful launch of my wedding on 16th April, we held our final planning and preparation meeting yesterday 2nd June, ahead of our wedding scheduled for 20th June 2026,” Frank said.
He added:
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all the ladies and gentlemen who took time to attend and support this important meeting.”
Frank singled out several leaders and contributors for special appreciation, stating:
“Special thanks go to my brother, Hon. Adonia Ayebare, our designated Minister for Foreign Affairs; my sister, Hon. Justine Nameere, our designated State Minister for Local Government; my big brother, Hon. Peter Ogwang, State Minister for Sports; Mr. Kasujja, Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre; my spiritual father, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo; Owek. Hon. Henry Basaliza; my dear father, Hon. James Kakooza; and the entire team of hundreds of friends and well-wishers who participated.”
He concluded by highlighting the emotional significance of the support received:
“Your presence, encouragement, and support mean so much to me and my future wife as we prepare for this special day. Thank you all for your love and commitment. May God richly bless each one of you.”
The wedding, expected to attract guests from political, media, and religious circles, continues to draw attention due to the high-profile nature of attendees involved in its preparations.
