KAMPALA — Former Kampala Mayor and People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) president Erias Lukwago was taken from his residence in Kampala during an early morning security operation on Monday, sparking outrage from family members, political allies, and human rights advocates.
According to Lukwago’s wife, Zawedde Lubwama Lukwago, armed security personnel arrived at the family home in Wakaliga shortly after breakfast and gained entry to the compound before proceeding to the house.
Speaking to journalists outside the residence, a visibly shaken Zawedde recounted the dramatic events that unfolded. She claimed the officers entered the property in large numbers and eventually reached the bedroom where Lukwago was resting.
“He had just finished breakfast when we were alerted that security personnel had entered the premises,” she said. “A few moments later, they reached our door and demanded access.” CONTINUE READING..
