Winnie Byanyima, the Executive Director of Oxfam International and wife of veteran opposition politician Dr. Kizza Besigye, has publicly defended her husband as he continues to face legal challenges, insisting that he deserves a fair hearing before an independent court.

Speaking during an interview on NBS Morning Breeze, Byanyima expressed confidence in Besigye’s innocence and called for a judicial process that would allow him to fully respond to the accusations against him.

“I believe he is innocent. I want him to have his day in a proper court,” Byanyima said during the televised discussion.
