Fresh reports indicate that officials of the National Unity Platform (NUP) are facing mounting pressure after the Executive Director of the Interparty Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD), Dr. Lawrence Sserwambala, reportedly informed the party that its president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, must personally participate in the signing process for the party to officially join the organization.

According to information circulating in political circles, Dr. Sserwambala wrote to senior NUP leaders explaining that the final stage of the party's admission into IPOD cannot proceed without the direct involvement of Bobi Wine. The development has reportedly complicated efforts by NUP to formalize its participation in the platform, which brings together political parties represented in Parliament.

Reports further suggest that NUP had proposed that its acting party president and deputy president for Northern Uganda, Dr. Lina Zedriga, represent Bobi Wine during the signing ceremony. However, IPOD is said to have rejected the proposal, insisting that only the party president can append his signature to the final documents required for membership. GET FULL STORY HERE.
