A Nigerian cleric, Primate Ayodele, has sparked discussion after claiming to have received a spiritual revelation concerning Uganda’s future leadership transition, specifically involving President Yoweri Museveni and his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Ayodele alleged that he was shown events indicating President Museveni is in the “final stages” of preparing to hand over power to Gen. Muhoozi, who has on several occasions expressed readiness to assume national leadership.

According to the preacher, the alleged transition would not proceed smoothly.

He further claimed that the revelation pointed to possible resistance from senior figures within Uganda’s military establishment, suggesting that sections of the security leadership would not accept Muhoozi’s rise to power.

Ayodele went further to state that the vision he described indicated a scenario in which Museveni’s life could be under threat through assassination linked to internal military tensions, should the succession process move forward as he described.

He insisted that the message, as he presented it, was spiritually revealed and should be taken seriously in the context of Uganda’s political direction.

Uganda’s political succession debate has remained a sensitive issue, with Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, occasionally making public remarks suggesting interest in future leadership.

President Museveni, who has ruled Uganda since 1986, has also previously addressed questions surrounding succession planning, though no formal transfer timeline has been announced.

The remarks by the Nigerian preacher have nonetheless added to ongoing speculation about Uganda’s political future, a topic that continues to draw attention across the region amid debates over stability, succession, and military involvement in governance.
