State Minister for Local Government and Masaka woman MP Justine Nameere has issued a defiant message to her critics ahead of her official swearing-in, dismissing ongoing online scrutiny and defending her personal and professional record as she prepares to assume office.

In a statement shared amid continued debate on social media, Nameere said her elevation to ministerial rank was not subject to public approval from detractors, insisting that leadership appointments are determined by constitutional and institutional processes rather than online opinion.

“You don’t decide who gets blessed! No badge, no vote! Fix yourself first! Your skeletons are outside doing stand-up comedy about you as you judge people!” she said, in a message aimed at critics questioning her suitability for public office.

Her remarks come at a time when she has faced heightened online scrutiny following a series of social media exchanges and public commentary involving media figures and political commentators.

The discussions, which have largely played out on digital platforms, have centred on her past professional associations and personal history, with critics raising questions about her trajectory into senior government office.

Nameere, however, pushed back strongly against what she termed as character attacks, arguing that her past does not define her capacity to serve in public office.

She maintained that her record in public service remains intact and free of criminal wrongdoing.

“This girl had a past as a legit hustler. No criminal record. Debts are civil matters,” she stated, rejecting allegations that have circulated online.

“At 31, in 2021, she was appointed Senior Presidential Advisor for Greater Masaka — and she fought land grabbers, mafias, oppressors of the voiceless, and political double-dealers. That is why her public service record is clean.”

She further defended her career path, stating that any challenges she encountered in earlier years were personal and had since been resolved.

According to her, her focus has remained on service delivery and public administration rather than engaging in public disputes.

“My hustle and challenges were personal, and they are long sorted and gone,” she added.

Nameere also emphasized that her approach to public life has been guided by discipline and focus, noting that she has deliberately avoided engaging in prolonged public feuds despite persistent criticism online.

She stated that she intends to remain focused on her official duties once sworn in as State Minister for Local Government, urging critics to allow her to concentrate on governance responsibilities.

“She stays in her lane, doing her work and minding her own business — until you come looking for trouble,” she said, in a closing remark aimed at her detractors.

The statement adds a new layer to the ongoing public debate surrounding her appointment, which has drawn mixed reactions online, with supporters praising her resilience and critics questioning her suitability for high office.
