Makindye East MP Nyeko Derrick has called on voters in Busiro to support Hon. Medard Ssegona Lubega, describing him as a principled and fearless leader whose record speaks louder than words.
Speaking on X, Nyeko emphasized the importance of electing leaders grounded in courage, wisdom, and integrity.
"We are at a critical moment in this country, and we cannot afford to lose leadership of this nature," he stated, highlighting Ssegona's long-standing commitment to law, justice, and the dignity of ordinary Ugandans.
Nyeko described Ssegona as a lawyer and parliamentarian who “speaks without fear or favour” and has consistently defended constitutional institutions even when others remained silent.
“He has chosen country over comfort, principle over popularity,” Nyeko said, urging voters not to gamble with leadership at a crucial juncture.
He reminded residents that Ssegona’s approach is rooted in intellect and conscience rather than political convenience, noting that his leadership record reflects steadfast support for the rule of law.
Nyeko encouraged deliberate decision-making, emphasizing that the electorate should prioritize wisdom, experience, and integrity when casting their votes.
"My friends in Busiro, this is the time to stand with leadership that protects the law and the future of our country," he added.
The MP concluded by urging constituents to back Medard Ssegona Lubega in the upcoming elections, framing the vote as a choice for continuity, principled leadership, and the safeguarding of Uganda’s democratic institutions.
Ssegona, who has served in Parliament for multiple terms, is campaigning on a platform of justice, constitutionalism, and service to the people, promising a leadership style that prioritizes principle over popularity.
