Author Nalongo Laloyo has shared a detailed account of how a casual online interaction eventually developed into a serious relationship, saying what began as a simple message from a stranger later evolved into a committed partnership that is now heading toward marriage.

She described the experience as unexpected but smooth, shaped by mutual respect and timing.

“This is how we met: He first messaged me asking to meet up as friends, but I told him I don’t meet strangers,” she said, recalling her initial response to the man’s approach.

According to Laloyo, the man first reached out via direct message requesting to meet her as friends, a proposal she declined because she preferred not to meet people she did not know personally.

She says she instead chose to delete his contact, considering the interaction closed at the time.

“He was respectful about it, so I deleted his number,” she added, noting that she did not expect any further contact from him.

She adds that months later the same individual reappeared, this time expressing interest in purchasing copies of her books. By then she had forgotten their earlier exchange.

However, since he mentioned being in Kitende, the same area where she was located, she decided to personally deliver the books after her usual delivery arrangement became unavailable.

“Some time later, he reached out again wanting to buy my books. I had forgotten who he was, but since he happened to be in Kitende…the same area I was in…I decided to deliver the books myself,” she explained.

Laloyo further explains that the man ordered two copies of her work and completed reading them within two days. After finishing, he requested a meeting to discuss the books, a request she agreed to without hesitation.

“He ordered two copies of my books and finished them in just two days. When he was done, he asked to meet so we could discuss them, and for some reason, I didn't hesitate,” she said.

The author recalls that he picked her up and took her to his preferred hangout spot, where they spent hours in conversation.

She describes him as intelligent and attentive, noting that he expressed early certainty about her being someone he wanted to build a future with.

“He picked me up and took me to his favorite hangout spot, where we talked for hours. He is such a brilliant man, and from the moment we met, he knew I was the woman he wanted to be the mother of his children,” she said.

She adds that his consistent kindness and seriousness toward her stood out, and when he later asked to meet her parents, she agreed.

According to her account, he honoured that commitment, strengthening her confidence in the relationship and its direction.

“He has been nothing but kind to me ever since, and when he asked to meet my parents I didn’t hesitate for a second, and he fulfilled his commitment,” she noted.

Laloyo concludes by expressing optimism about the relationship, indicating that marriage plans are underway and referring to herself as “soon to be Mrs,” though she did not disclose further personal details.

“I am so happy to say that I will soon be Mrs…” she said.

The account reflects a growing trend of relationships beginning through digital communication and evolving through shared interests, including creative work and entrepreneurship.

Laloyo’s experience highlights how initial boundaries in online interactions can shift over time when trust and consistency are demonstrated.
