A high-profile investigation has escalated after the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba confirmed that authorities have taken control of a luxury Rolls-Royce linked to the ongoing corruption probe involving Parliament Speaker Anita Annet Among.

In a brief but firm statement shared on social media, Muhoozi said security forces had successfully secured the vehicle and hinted at plans for disposal through state recovery mechanisms.

“We captured the Rolls-Royce. It’s under our control. We shall auction it and recover the funds of the state,” he stated.

The remarks come days after security agencies carried out coordinated searches at multiple properties associated with the Speaker, including residences in Kigo, Nakasero, and Ntinda.

During the operation, a high-end Rolls-Royce Cullinan reportedly linked to the Speaker was seized and transported under heavy security to police facilities in Kampala.

According to earlier reporting, the luxury SUV is believed to be a recent acquisition imported from the United Kingdom, with estimates placing its value at several billion shillings after taxes, shipping, and registration costs.

The vehicle has since become a focal point in a widening inquiry into alleged misuse of public resources and unexplained wealth.

Authorities have not publicly detailed the full scope of evidence collected during the raids, but sources familiar with the operation describe it as part of an ongoing asset tracing exercise targeting high-value properties and vehicles.

Muhoozi’s statement marks one of the most direct confirmations yet from a senior security official regarding the fate of seized assets in the case.

His comments also signal a possible move toward asset recovery through auction, a process typically used when property is believed to be linked to illicit financial activity.
