Former Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda has alleged that security forces surrounded the home of Kampala Lord Mayor and lawyer Erias Lukwago on Monday morning in what he describes as an attempt to block the serving of court documents linked to a case involving Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
In a post shared on X, Ssemujju claimed that military officers were deployed outside Lukwago’s residence as legal processes were underway in a case connected to the alleged kidnapping of opposition leader Kizza Besigye from Kenya.
He further suggested that the operation was intended to prevent Lukwago from formally serving court papers to Muhoozi in relation to the matter.
“Erias Lukwago's home has this morning been surrounded by soldiers to stop him from serving Muhoozi Kainerugaba with court papers on the case we filed about the kidnapping of kizza besigye from Kenya,” Ssemujju wrote, without providing additional supporting evidence at the time of publication.
The claims come amid a series of escalating allegations involving Lukwago, who has recently reported increased surveillance around his home, including claims of drone activity and the presence of security operatives.
Lukwago has been representing Besigye in ongoing legal proceedings that have drawn significant political attention both domestically and within regional human rights circles.
Security agencies have not issued an official response to the latest allegations, and the circumstances surrounding the reported military deployment remain unverified.
However, such claims have previously triggered public debate over the role of security forces in managing politically sensitive legal processes.
The alleged court case referenced by Ssemujju is linked to accusations surrounding the cross-border handling of Besigye’s movements, which opposition figures argue raise questions about legality and due process.
