KAMPALA — A political storm is brewing at the highest levels of Uganda’s government after Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba reportedly ordered an intelligence investigation into a leaked audio recording allegedly featuring Uganda’s Ambassador to the European Union, Mirjam Blaak, and veteran Cabinet Minister Gen. Kahinda Otafiire.
The controversial recording, which has spread rapidly across social media platforms, appears to capture a private conversation between the two senior officials discussing opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, and the challenges Ugandan diplomats faced while defending the government's image before European lawmakers following the country's recent elections.
Although the authenticity of the audio has not been independently verified, its contents have generated widespread debate, with many interpreting portions of the conversation as criticism of Muhoozi's public statements on social media. GET FULL STORY HERE.
