Fresh speculation has emerged surrounding jailed Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) founder Jamil Mukulu, with reports claiming that the former rebel leader could be exploring the possibility of seeking amnesty from the Ugandan government in exchange for renouncing his past activities.
According to unverified reports circulating in political and security circles, Mukulu is allegedly considering a request for pardon after spending years in detention while facing various criminal proceedings linked to his alleged role in rebel activities.
Sources cited in the reports claim that intermediaries have allegedly informed Mukulu that a path to freedom could exist if he publicly distances himself from armed rebellion and seeks forgiveness from the Ugandan leadership.
The reports further allege that Mukulu, who is said to be in poor health, was advised that cooperation with authorities could improve his chances of securing a pardon or other form of legal relief. However, there has been no official confirmation from the Ugandan government, the Uganda Prisons Service, the Office of the President, or the Uganda People's Defence Forces regarding any such negotiations.GET FULL STORY HERE.
