Former Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda has raised fresh concerns over the welfare of Kampala Lord Mayor and lawyer Erias Lukwago, alleging a heightened security operation around his residence following Lukwago’s earlier claims that drones had been deployed near his home.
In a public update shared on social media, Ssemujju alleged that the situation had escalated beyond surveillance, claiming that security operatives had moved into Lukwago’s compound.
He further suggested that the operations posed a direct threat to the lawyer’s safety, linking the developments to his ongoing legal involvement in politically sensitive cases.
“Operatives have bleached Erias Lukwagoo’s fence and now are breaking into rooms in his house. They want to abduct him,” Ssemujju stated in the post, using strong language to describe what he believes is an active security intervention targeting the opposition-linked lawyer.
The claims have not been independently verified by security agencies or third-party observers.
The developments come days after Lukwago himself reported that two drones were hovering around his residence, an incident he said had effectively sealed off his home with security operatives in close proximity.
Lukwago, who is representing detained opposition leader Kizza Besigye in ongoing legal proceedings, has recently filed a lawsuit linked to actions involving Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The legal and political context surrounding the case has drawn increased public attention, with opposition figures raising concerns over surveillance, intimidation, and restrictions on political activity.
State authorities, however, have not issued a detailed response to the latest allegations raised by Ssemujju or Lukwago.
Security agencies have in past statements maintained that their operations are conducted within the law and are guided by national security considerations, though they have not specifically addressed the latest claims.
