“Worse Than 1966” – Mayanja Alleges Mengo Plot to Make Mayiga President, Calls Museveni To Do This

Former State Minister for Lands, Dr. Sam Mayanja, has stirred public debate with fresh claims that Buganda Kingdom leaders at Mengo are secretly plotting to take control of national leadership.

He believes their ultimate goal is to install Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga as the next President of Uganda.

In a strongly worded article, Mayanja described the alleged plot as a major threat to Uganda’s stability, comparing it to the 1966 Buganda Crisis when Prime Minister Milton Obote clashed with Kabaka Mutesa II, leading to the storming of the Kabaka’s palace.
