Social media personality and journalist Denis Duke has shared a personal account revealing how his past relationship with a minister’s daughter abruptly ended after he unknowingly exposed her father in a corruption scandal.
In a detailed narration posted online, Duke described how the relationship began casually, sparked by a chance encounter in a parking lot.
According to him, a simple act of courtesy—allowing her to take the only available parking space—laid the foundation for what would later develop into a romantic relationship.
“I one time unknowingly dated a minister’s daughter. Girl had class. Drove a very posh car. I actually met her where I’d parked mine,” he wrote.
The relationship reportedly progressed smoothly for several weeks, with Duke noting that they had never discussed her family background in detail.
However, events took a dramatic turn when a corruption scandal involving the woman’s father emerged in the public domain.
Duke, known for his active presence on social media and commentary on current affairs, says he was among the first to break the story online—unaware of the personal connection.
“I remember being among those who first broke the story online. I even had additional social media posts left right and centre. Not knowing I was hitting my would be father in Law,” he stated.
The situation escalated when he was summoned by his then-partner for an explanation. Duke recalls the tense meeting, describing visible fear and pressure, especially after realizing the gravity of the situation.
“Met that evening and she demanded an explanation as to why I was on her dad… You people, should have seen me. I was sweating. Trembling,” he said, adding that he was forced to delete the posts under pressure, allegedly in the presence of security linked to her father.
Despite the intervention, the relationship did not survive the incident. Duke noted that the only reason he avoided further consequences was because the minister became aware of their relationship, prompting a more restrained approach.
“The only reason I was forgiven was because her dad found out we were dating,” he explained.
Years later, the two reportedly crossed paths again at a thanksgiving event hosted by a government official. Duke claims they briefly reconnected and exchanged contacts, sparking questions about a possible reconciliation.
“She’s promised to come and we talk. Do you guys think it’s a good thing to get back?” he posed to his followers.
