President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to deliver a national address on the Ebola situation, signaling heightened government attention to the evolving public health concern.

The address will be broadcast live on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM across all television, radio stations, and social media platforms.

In a brief message shared on his official X account, the President called on citizens to follow the address closely.

“Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu. Tomorrow evening at 8pm, I will address the country on the Ebola situation in Uganda. Please tune in,” Museveni stated.

The message underscores the urgency of the matter and the government’s intent to directly communicate updates and guidance to the public.

The announcement comes amid growing concern over Ebola, a highly infectious and often fatal disease that has previously affected Uganda in periodic outbreaks.

While authorities have not yet released detailed updates ahead of the President’s address, the scheduled communication is expected to outline the current status of the outbreak, containment measures, and any new directives aimed at limiting transmission.

Public health experts typically emphasize early detection, isolation of cases, and strict adherence to hygiene protocols as critical steps in managing Ebola outbreaks.

The government has historically relied on coordinated responses involving the Ministry of Health, local authorities, and international partners to contain such crises.

Museveni’s decision to personally address the nation suggests the situation has reached a level requiring unified national awareness and compliance.

His remarks are also expected to reassure the public while reinforcing preventive measures.

Ugandans have in the past responded to similar addresses with increased vigilance, particularly in adhering to guidelines on movement, public gatherings, and reporting suspected symptoms.

The upcoming address is therefore likely to play a key role in shaping public response in the coming days.

Authorities have urged citizens to rely on official communication channels for accurate information and to avoid spreading unverified reports that could cause panic.

The national address is expected to provide clarity and direction as the country navigates the latest Ebola threat.
