Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua on Tuesday expressed confidence in Northern Uganda’s readiness to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the 2026 General Elections.
Speaking during a campaign event in Apwoyo, Oyam, Obua highlighted President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership as a driving force behind the region’s ongoing development.
“Northern Uganda is ready to vote for NRM in 2026. President Museveni’s visible transformation initiatives centered on peace, development, and wealth creation have restored hope and confidence,” Obua stated on X.
He added that unity of purpose, when combined with visionary leadership, is key to achieving prosperity for communities across the country.
Obua pointed to the government’s investments in infrastructure, social services, and local economic empowerment as evidence of tangible progress in the region.
He emphasized that these efforts have fostered peace and stability, which are critical for sustained development.
Supporters at the rally applauded the NRM’s achievements, particularly initiatives aimed at improving roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and market access for farmers.
Many residents expressed optimism that continued support for the ruling party would translate into further economic growth and social development.
The rally in Apwoyo marks another milestone in President Museveni’s ongoing nationwide campaign, reinforcing the NRM’s narrative that transformative leadership, coupled with community unity, can drive sustainable development and improved livelihoods across Uganda.
